$10,000 Rural Healthcare Scholarship Program

In the interest of recruiting high quality employees, Big Stone Therapies has partnered with the University of Minnesota Physical Therapy Program to develop a scholarship to help pay a portion of the educational expenses associated with obtaining their degree.

We have designed this scholarship program to pay scholarship dollars up front to the recipient to help defray their education expenses. The scholarship is available to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year students and can be paid out in one payment or multiple payments throughout the years enrolled in schooling. There are two scholarships available for each class of students.

Scholarship recipients are guaranteed to receive a clinical placement and an offer for a full-time Physical Therapist position at Big Stone Therapies!

Details of the Scholarship Program:

Applicants must first complete the application, which must be accompanied by a cover letter detailing your reasons for interest in this program.
Applicants will be screened for eligibility and the top candidates will meet virtually with the scholarship committee for further consideration.
Scholarship recipients must verify enrollment in the University of Minnesota Physical Therapy program prior to disbursement of the scholarship payments.
Scholarship recipients will sign an agreement to accept employment with BST upon graduation from the Physical Therapy program and commit to working for BST for 3 years.
The agreement includes a schedule by which a percentage of the loan is forgiven for each year of employment, up to 3-years, at which time the loan and all accrued interest are fully forgiven.*

Applications are due May 1^st.

For applications received by May 1:

Applicants are reviewed within a week
Interviews are scheduled for May/June
Recipients are selected and notified by July 1st
Scholarship payments can be sent out as early as August 1st

Applicants not selected for the scholarship will have the opportunity to be considered for the next cycle.

*We understand that life happens! If you are unable to fulfill your 3-year employment commitment, we will work with you on creating a repayment plan.

I understand that this application is the first step in a process for consideration of eligibility for a scholarship with Big Stone Therapies, Inc. I further acknowledge that I will be required to submit to an interview process as well to determine my eligibility for this program.

I understand that upon graduation from an accredited Therapy program, this scholarship will convert to a debt with a specified scheduled for debt forgiveness based on years of service with Big Stone Therapies. I further understand that failure to meet the terms of the agreement will result in my obligation to repay the debt as specified in the scholarship agreement and promissory notes.

I understand that my spouse/parent/guardian may also be required to sign said scholarship agreement(s).

I acknowledge that if I am selected, I will be required to provide proof of enrollment in an accredited University in a Therapy program for each year that I am eligible for a
scholarship.
